The consortium COVINCA S.A. (Concessionaria Peruana de Vías), responsible for the maintenance and rehabilitation of South Panamerican Highway in Peru, chose to work with BOMAG and Marini Latin America equipment in every recovery processes and maintenance of 430 km under their responsibility.
The restoration work should last 24 months and consume 385,000 tons of asphalt. During the jobsite execution the equipment should be transferred to operate in four different locations. The choice of BOMAG equipment (paver and rollers) and MARINI Latin America (asphalt plant) was given due to the need for high mobility and maximum productivity for maintenance works including treatment of subgrade, reinforcement layers application and cracks treatment.
Guillermo Vargas, Jobsite Director, clarifies that the works consist on the maintenance of existing stretches from Quilca (Km 952 + 300) to La Concordia, border with Chile (Km 1335.61) in accordance with the international standards set by Peruvian Ministry of Transport and communications.
