The construction company Coguetto Maria acquired a Titanium 140 asphalt plant from BOMAG MARINI for the repaving of 98 000 m² of Foz do Iguaçu Airport runway. The project, which is following the standard range of HMAC (Hot Mix Asphalt Concrete), specific for airports, from Brazilian Aeronautical Engineering Office (Direng), will receive operational certification and will ensure international safety standards.
Marcos Leandro De Lima, director of engineering at Coguetto, said that the new equipment is demonstrating superiority in terms of technology and productivity: “We are working with a complete plant, that is equipped with an advanced mixing process, and operates with high fidelity to the laboratory design, delivering exactly what is demanded in the tests with respect to the composition of the material, granulometry and degree of mixing”, completed De Lima.
The production routine happens during the night in order not to interfere on the airport regular operation; it begins at 20 o’clock with the start of the plant that is located 6km from the airport. The project employs 51 people and the average production is 400 tons per day. The company also has 15 trucks in operation that circulate during the night shifts to guarantee constant paving.
