International seminar for Asphalt Mixing Plant Technology

The who is who of the Colombian road construction companies where attending the events and global player such as the VINCI-Group and STRABAG had send their representatives. Carlos Ojeda, the General Manager of ASTECNIA S.A. had organized a professional seminar supported by the team of MARINI Latin America and the FAYAT Mixing Plant Division.

The seminar was focused on the Asphalt Mixing Plant Technology with presentations from experts of the industry talking about continuous and batch asphalt plants, the advantages of each technique and the state of the art applications.

One of the highlights was the speech from PhD. Ing. Silvia Caro, Associate Professor for Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Los Andes, Bogota. She focused on the today’s requirement, technologies, solutions and market situation for Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement – RAP.

With this event, ASTECNIA and MARINI have answered to the latest market developments and needs of the Colombian infrastructure.

The Colombian market for asphalt mixing plants consists of 150 plants, whereof the FAYAT Mixing Plant Division covers an installed number of over 20 plants. During 2016 the division reached more than 30% market share with the delivery of MAGNUM Series Plants from Marini Latin America to Colombian companies.

A clear trend of investments is seen to develop the local transportation in the major cities of Colombia and as well new road projects to connect the major cities with major ports and harbours..
